Becoming a Blogging Road Warrior

road warrior
n. Informal
A person who travels frequently, especially on business.

Now, I’m not a high profile executive being chauffeured across the globe to board meetings, but I am a student and I spend a lot of time running from campus to downtown to home, in no particular order. To make sure that BizStudent is kept up to date no matter where I am, be it the mall, or financial accounting class, I am employing some new gadgets and tools which I hope will help me become a “blogging road warrior”.

My new favorite gadget, something which I wonder how I ever lived without, is my Blackberry. I got the 8700 model for Christmas, and I love it. It has the full QWERTY keyboard set-up which is much better for my large hands than the pearl would be. Between school, the blog, life, family and everything else under the sun, I get a TON of emails, and this beauty allows me to stay on top of emails where ever I am, especially classes where I would otherwise be sleeping.

And of course, where would I be without my trusty, fat-assed, Dell Insipron 9400. This thing can hardly be considered ultra-portable, but she is a mighty beast and can choke down many processes and programs at the same time. (Thank you Duo-Core). I try to bring her with me at all times, so that I can furiously whip up posts in the cafeteria, library or class. I compose my posts in Windows Live Writer, possibly not the best program, but better than Wordpress because of the formating and spell check options. It also allows me to have my drafts stored offline for when the campus internet goes down and/or I need a back-up on my hard drive. I love her, and she comes second to my Blackberry only because I can’t always fit her in my bag.

My PEWPEWter

Last but not least in my arsenal of road-blogging weapons, is my copy of “Blogging Hero’s” which I also received for Christmas. Although I have already read it 5 times over, I always keep it with me when I need a bit of quick inspiration on the run. It is quickly becoming my blogging bible. Here is a picture of my beloved bible:

My Book

We’ll, that concludes my little spiel on blogging on the road. Tell me about how you keep up with writing on the run - I’m all ears.
