It’s time for a post full of advice on life. That being said, it will also be short, I’m not really in the mood to write a long post.
It’s time for a patented BizStudent analogy, I gave a killer one last night about how dating is like real estate, but I wont get into that now. And this one is dedicated to all my peoples in Ottawa who are dealing with Life, School, Love and damn cold weather.
Life is like Scuba Diving…
By Jack “BizStudent” Morrison
Life is hard, so deal with it. Yeah, it may go from being easy to control everything, to feeling like you are drowning - but the worst thing you can do is panic, because as Dane Cook says:
DO NOT FLOAT ABOVE ME WHILE I AM DYING IN THE ABYSS!
Sit back, don’t take a deep breath, because obviously you are underwater, and relax a second. You have friends and family (Oxygen tank and fancy diving gadgets) there to help you survive in the hostile environment. You are thick skinned (wet suit) so you can handle a little pressure. Examine your surroundings, and look out for things that may affect you negatively (Sharks, things that bite, motorboat propellars, overzealous Orca’s, pissed off seals, oil spills, mean people in life with spear guns that want to get you! - and of course, Stingray’s (RIP Mr. Irwin) and make sure to avoid them. Also look for the direction you want to go from here, in this case, that would be the surface, but, you can’t just rush to get there. You need to take it slow, otherwise you will build up nitrogen bubbles in your blood (Stress) and then when you get to the surface you will begin to suffer from the bends (Total Meltdown, Nervous Breakdown, Basically, Your Brain will go Three Mile Island). Once you arrive at the surface, you are free to breathe air again, and not worry. It all just took a little work.
So, the moral of this story, next time you are about to “DIE IN THE ABYSS” - remember, life is just scubadiving.
That will about do it for my Friday ramblings, and to show you that all is not bad, I was hired for a new job and I am very excited for it.
But, You dont get to know what it is right now, unless you are a close personal friend, and then you already know.
Until Next Time,
JM
